Youth Trespass Incident – Bridge Street, Tadcaster

Yesterday evening, officers responded to a report of youths entering a building in Tadcaster. It was not apparent until officers arrived that the premises involved was an abandoned and unsafe building located on Bridge Street.

Upon arrival, officers quickly identified the young people involved. They were spoken to at length and educated about the very real dangers associated with entering derelict or insecure buildings, as well as the potential criminal consequences of doing so.

We are asking all parents and guardians to take a moment to discuss this issue with their children. Entering abandoned or unsafe buildings puts young people at significant risk of injury and can also place others in danger, including members of the emergency services who may have to respond.
